Wild Treasures from the Heart of Wales

Hi, I’m Sarah, the hands in the soil behind Bwthyn Blooms. I’ve been growing flowers since I moved into my first home, after having spent most of my teenage years glued to a computer and hating everything outdoorsy. Turns out the love of the land I grew up in with had other ideas! There’s nothing I love more than seeing a tiny seed turn into a seasonal British flower bouquet that can brighten someone’s day.

At Bwthyn Blooms, we grow local, seasonal flowers in Wales with care; shaped by hillside breezes, red kite calls, and proper respect for the land. Whether you’re a florist, a keen floral arranger, want to decorate your event space or business with flowers, or want a sustainable alternative to imported wedding flowers, you’re taking home a piece of our Welsh countryside, grown with care and ready to brighten a room.

Why It Started

It all began while planning our wedding in 2023. I discovered a nearby florist who also grew her own flowers and realised that sustainably grown, local flowers could thrive in the UK. When we bought our Powys home with an acre of land, the seed was planted. My husband Chris nudged me towards starting a cut flower business rather than just growing as a hobby, and I’m so glad he did: now I get to share my love of growing flowers with everyone.

Bwthyn Blooms exists to spread a love of seasonal, local British flowers, to show what we can grow in the UK without relying on imports, and to champion sustainability, soil health, and conservation. Supporting local businesses and building a community around flowers is just as important as the blooms themselves.
